You may (or may not) have noticed that I've yet to log any of my nutrition or fitness info for this week. And that's because I'm taking this week off. I'm not eating completely horrible and I am still doing some light exercise. But, it is Wednesday and my body is still wrecked from the weekend competition. And I need to rest. I tried to exercise yesterday and was able to go hard for about 4 minutes at which point I hit a wall I couldn't climb and ended up having to stop. My body just wouldn't go. Again, I just need to rest. And, in regards to nutrition, I've just decided to lighten up on the reigns for 1 week. And I've eaten plenty of good nutritious food that I haven't logged. But I've also had plenty of splurges in the last 4 or 5 days. I'll continue to have a splurge here and there through Memorial Day at which point I will pull back up on the reigns and plan on committing to another month of perfect nutrition. Eating well, although it still remains a worthy challenge, is enjoyable. And the results of truly strict nutrition are amazing. Seriously, in one month of perfect consumption, my body composition DRAMATICALLY changed. No joke. So I'm gonna go for another month and see what happens. Anybody want to join? Accountability is everything. That said, just to prove how weak I am and thus how human, here's a list of everything I've splurged on since Saturday night after the qualifier:
-2 pints black butte porter
-Mongolian grill/Chinese food buffet(a lot of salty/sugary/fried foods, bad scene)
-tortilla chips and salsa
-chocolate chip mint ice cream
-chocolate peanut butter cups
-enchilada(s), rice and beans
-chimichanga
-2 bottles negra modelo
-2 bottles moose drool
-3 brownies
Pretty ugly huh? Yeah it's been at times a little overboard and the great thing is, my body hates me for it. Which makes me not want to eat that stuff even more. And don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed most every bite. But eating like this often is no way to live. I still can't believe my diet used to read like the above on almost a daily basis. Thank God for deliverance. See you back here this coming Tuesday for the start of a new season and my return to accountable blogging.
